GLAA Name Game by kyrtuck GLAA Name Game by kyrtuck
Many Civil War battles had two names, one that was used by the North, which often went by landmarks, like Bull Run, which was a small nearby creek.  And the Southern ones named after towns, since most battles got fought in the South, so it was more personal for them.

As for the States fighting the battles in the background, I wanted to use different ones each time.  Its not representative of where those battles were fought, or who had the most divisions, but I did make sure to choose states that had at least a few divisions in the battle in question.

First off, the reason that the Southerners chose to name battles after towns and Northerners named battles after landmarks has to do with the concentration of the populace: since the South was largely rural, towns were more easily remembered since there weren't that many of them, whereas the North (which was largely urban) named their battles after landmarks because those were easier to remember for them.

Second off, that's exactly how I would imagine Confederate America to look. Good comic.

Did you mean to write Sharpsburg rather than Sharpsbug?
